Today, a heartbreaking incident unfolded at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. Police have confirmed that a shooter opened fire at the school, tragically claiming the lives of three individuals and injuring several others.

Earlier reports indicated four fatalities, but police have since revised the death toll. Among the deceased is the alleged shooter, identified as a student at the school, who was found inside by responding officers. Police Chief Shon Barnes confirmed that law enforcement did not discharge their weapons during the response.

In a statement, Chief Barnes expressed the weight of the day: “It’s a sad day for our community and our country. We have to do a little bit better.”

At this time, authorities have not disclosed details about the victims, including their ages, genders, or roles within the school community, as they work to notify families. The school serves students ranging from kindergarten through high school, with approximately 200 families in its community.
