Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell has grilled Treasurer Jim Chalmers during his post-budget address at the National Press Club.

This comes after the treasurer handed down his fourth budget on Tuesday night, where he unveiled the government’s cost of living relief measures.

Mr Clennell brought up then shadow treasurer Jim Chalmers’ comments from 2021, slamming the government’s budget deficits.

“You’ve just delivered a budget which forecasts a decade of deficits,” Mr Clennell said.

“My question, Treasurer, is, do you feel like a hypocrite today?”
