After sealing the series in Bristol England will look to clinch a series sweep over the West Indies when the two sides meet at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Tuesday (June 10). England secured the series with a four-wicket win in the second T20I a high-scoring contest where they came out on top in a run-fest at Bristol. Iqbal Sports Live.

The hosts got off to a cracking start when Luke Wood dismissed Evin Lewis on the first ball of the match. Shai Hope and Johnson Charles steadied the ship with a 90-run stand. Hope missed his half-century by a run as he was dismissed by Adil Rashid on 49. Sherfane Rutherford once again failed with the bat he perished for just 6 runs.

Johnson Charles made 47 off 39 before losing his wicket. Rovman Powell struck a few maximums and a cameo from Jason Holder (29 off 9) took the Windies to 196/6 in 20 overs. Luke Wood impressed with the ball taking 2 for 25 from his four overs. Adil Rashid had an off day. He went for 59 runs from his four overs picking up a wicket. Liam Dawson the player of the match from the first T20I went wicketless and gave away 43 runs from his four overs.

In reply England lost Jamie Smith early in the chase. Ben Duckett and Jos Buttler added 63 runs for the second wicket. Duckett perished for 30 but Buttler continued the assault on the Windies bowlers smashing 47 off 36. Harry Brook scored 34 and Jacob Bethell too chipped in with a handy contribution of 26 off just 10 balls. Tom Banton played a blinder of a cameo remaining unbeaten on 30 off 11 balls to take England to a series win with 9 balls to spare.

Alzarri Joseph bagged two wickets while Akeal Hosein Jason Holder Romario Shepherd and Roston Chase all picked up one wicket each but it wasn’t enough to stop England to take the second T20I and the series. Having suffered a 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series can the West Indies finally get off the mark on this tour of England and avoid another clean sweep?
