Sky News host Peta Credlin says a “bit of sanity” has returned to the Liberals and Nationals as they put a pause on their split.

“It looks like a bit of sanity is returning, inside both the Liberal and the National party rooms, regarding this split in the Coalition, but if not swiftly mended, would condemn both of them to permanent opposition,” Ms Credlin said.

“This is a split that should never even have been contemplated.”
