Former US President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer.

A statement from his office has confirmed the 82-year-old was diagnosed on Friday after testing for urinary symptoms.

The disease has spread to the bone – but is hormone sensitive, allowing for effective management.

The former president and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.

Sky News host Gabriella Power described the news as “incredibly sad” and said, “no matter what side of politics you’re on” it’s important that Joe Biden gets the “very best treatment”.
