वक्फ अमेंडमेंट एक्ट को चुनौती देने वाली याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई करते हुए सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आज केंद्र से नए कानून के कई प्रावधानों, खासकर ‘वक्फ बाय यूजर’ संपत्तियों के प्रावधानों पर कड़े सवाल पूछे. कोर्ट ने केंद्रीय वक्फ काउसिल में गैर-मुसलमानों को शामिल करने के प्रावधान पर भी सवाल उठाए और सरकार से पूछा कि क्या वह मुसलमानों को हिंदू बंदोबस्ती बोर्डों का हिस्सा बनने की इजाजत देगी.
Hearing petitions challenging the Wakf Amendment Act, the Supreme Court today asked tough questions to the Centre on several provisions of the new law, especially the provisions on ‘Wakf by User’ properties. The court also questioned the provision of including non-Muslims in the Central Wakf Council and asked the government whether it would allow Muslims to become part of Hindu endowment boards.
