On Sunday, police arrested a Bangladeshi national for allegedly stabbing actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence three days earlier during an attempted burglary. Authorities are questioning the suspect to determine whether there is any “international conspiracy” involved.

Initial investigations suggest that the suspect, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad (30), was unaware that he had entered a Bollywood star’s home, and his primary intent was theft, according to a senior police official. The court granted a five-day police custody for Shehzad, noting that the possibility of an international conspiracy could not be ruled out at this stage.

The breakthrough came when police tracked Shehzad to a labor camp in a forested area of Thane, following a tip-off from a local labor contractor. Multiple police teams worked around the clock, analyzing CCTV footage and piecing together various leads over the past three days to capture the suspect.
